From the beginning WIN chose not to engage in traditional practices of support including running “group homes” or employing physical management such as restraints. Over time WIN’s philosophy and values have evolved as we evolve and learn and grow as individuals and as an organization. WIN now chooses to embrace the philosophy of Gentle Teaching and has asked its caregivers to utilize this approach to supporting the people we serve, and in our interactions with each other and our community.
