Tips for Using FMS

  • FMS has a good list of FAQ – top right under “Help”
  • First time use: Username is your e-mail address, Password is provided but you
    can change this to something you can remember easier (see below)
  • You must accept the conditions to use this system.
  • Go to staff at the top right corner of the page, select your name to open your profile. Here you
    can: change your password, Do not enter your cell phone number into this
    system, change contact preferences to limit the reasons you might get e-mail
    notifications.
  • Use “Filter” to show only your own schedule or the program(s) in which you work,
    departments added (1010, 1030, 3000 etc.) to help see all staff in a program,
  • You can use “Time-off” to request vacation, vacation bonus, float etc.
  • We are transitioning to Payworks for time off requests – until further notice, use both. Request your time off on FMS for scheduling purposes and on Payworks to track available time etc.
  • All schedule entries have the same format:
    1). staff or home/client,
    2). Shift,
    3). comment if needed,
    4). a separator if more than one shift or staff per day.
  • Each programs has it’s own colour e.g. 1010 (Overnight staffed homes) are
    green, 3000 Community Access are yellow to make it easier to follow,
  • You can sync with the calendar on your cellphone or computer for those who
    have an iphone, smartphone, google calendars, outlook and others.
